What happens to Zedd and Addie as they are trying to decide what to do?

While they are deciding what to do, a skirn attacks. A skirn is a creature from in between the underworld and the world of the living. Zedd doesn't know why the creature is attacking them; the horse is able to stay just out of range of the skirn as they run.
