Who is Angie from Stone Butch Blues and what is their importance?

Angie is who Jess loses her butch virginity to. When Jess sees the dildo in Angie's hands, she's so grateful to hear these words from Angie: "I'll show you how." (Chapter 6, page 71). Contrary to Jess's expectations, it's her inexperience that excites Angie the most.
