Who is Eliana’s mother?

Eliana’s mother is sensitive about her weight and she encourages her to diet and exercise. She does not approach the subject with much tact and she often finds herself hurting Eliana’s feelings and self-esteem although she does not seem to notice. Eliana does not have a close relationship with her mother and she constantly feels judged.
