What movement does Diane belong to and how is that movement characterized? How is the behavior of the movement ironic?

Diane is part of the New Kingdom (NK), a Christian Hedonist movement borne out of the fear of the end of the world. It is ironic that the movement is Christian and hedonistic, which in "real" life, are somewhat mutually exclusive. For a hedonist, pleasure for the sole sake of pleasure is a worthwhile pursuit; whereas, most Christian sects have varying degrees of rules against many actions that might bring pleasure to a physical human.
