What does E.D. reveal to Jason about the membrane called "Spin"?

Scientists have discovered that Earth is wrapped in a membrane that filters out objects, radiations and even time. In effect, this means that time passes much faster outside of the Spin than it does inside the Earth's atmosphere. During the five years since the October Event, the rest of the universe aged over five hundred million years. Jason ads that one of the consequences of this situation is that within half a century, the Sun will decay in such a way that the blue planet will be swallowed by the burning star.
