importance of Door to Brooke’s Room

The door to Brooke’s room represents protection. Even though Brooke’s door did not keep David out of her room, it would wake her up when she heard it open. The door was a form of protection that alerted her and allowed her to prepare for David. After he took her door off the hinges when he was angry with her, he was able to sneak into her room without her hearing him.
