Gina is Paul’s mother. She becomes one of Brooke’s strongest mentors and supporters in her desire to get justice in court. Gina sees to it that Brooke finds a place to get free counseling when Brooke’s mother refuses to pay for help for her daughter. Gina also calls Social Services and reports that she suspects that David is abusing his children. She gets in touch with Brooke’s Aunt Jean and Uncle Bruce in New York and encourages them to try to get Brooke to talk to them about what is happening at home. It is Gina who unintentionally tells Brooke that David also raped Thomas at one point. Although Thomas had wanted his abuse kept secret until he was ready to tell, it was the knowledge that she was the only one in her family willing to step forward and get justice for what happened that gave Brooke the strength she needed to go forward with a second trial. After David was found guilty in the second trial, Gina was so emotional the judge had her removed from the courtroom.
