Who is Beata from Soul of the Fire and what is their importance?

Beata regularly makes meat deliveries to the estate and converses with Fitch. After Fitch shares a secret dream, Beata scolds him, and in return, she then reveals that she wants to be able to learn to read. Beata is also Haken, and she believes that they will never quite get over the crimes of their ancestors.... even though they can learn to control themselves.
