"Son of the Mob" by Gordon Korman is written in the first-person objective. The main voice int his novel is that of 17-year-old Vince Luca. He is the son of a major Mob leader in New York. As his best friend says, this makes him a Mob prince. The narration is written as if the events are just occurring. This makes the reader feel as if they are part of the action. Because of this the only foreshadowing in the stories comes from references in the past and by situations that keep arising such as the emphasis on the way Kendra uses audio cassette tapes to record her karaoke and the way Tommy is newly obsessed with the computer, even though it seems against his character to be interested in the computer.
