Why does Darcy "burn the image" of Marcus voluntarily reaching for her hand into her mind?

Darcy becomes frantic about her appearance because she wants to make sure she looks good and makes Dex and Rachel regret their actions. She is intensely curious about them - grilling Marcus about a conversation he had and even hiding behind furniture so she can spy on them.
