How does Oluo define the school-to-prison pipeline?

In Chapter 8: What is the School-to-Prison Pipeline?, Oluo states that “the term commonly used to describe the alarming number of black and brown children who are funneled directly and indirectly from our schools into our prison industrial complex” (99) is the school-to-prison pipeline. The school-to-prison pipeline ensures that the system of mass incarceration being levied against people of color will continue and will only grow more extreme with time.
