Who is Raven from Snow Crash and what is their importance?

Raven, whose full name is Dmitri Ravenoff, is an Aleut whose primary goal is to destroy America. Raven uses glass knives as weapons, since they are undetectable by radar or metal detectors. Raven is an excellent kayaker. Raven is associated with the Orthos and with L. Bob Rife, but he is mostly along for the ride. There is intense chemistry between Raven and Y.T. that becomes unfulfilled after the incident with the dentata and later events in the story.
