Imagery:

In spite of being in a closed elevator, wind blew into Sudi's nostrils and filled her lungs. Her chest heaved, trying to catch a breath not tainted with the smell of tombs.

Warm rain splattered their faces, but they didn't run for shelter. They stayed in the downpour, staring at each other. Sudi pressed her lips together, feeling a sudden overwhelming sadness. Her future was going to be far different from the one she had planned.
