• Marner learns how to raise Eppie, especially with the help of Dolly Winthrop. He gravitates towards her help above other because she does not look down on him or treat him scornfully as a fellow parent.

• To the rejoicing of Dolly Winthrop, Marner even begins to attend church again for the child’s sake.

• Eppie begins to change Marner’s harsh, bitter mindset, reforming his views on life. He softens as learns to love Eppie in a way he never felt for his gold.
