Why does Siddhartha’s father give in to his request to join the Samanas.

Initially Siddhartha's father tells his son no and to never speak of joining the Samanas again. After Siddhartha refused to move from his spot, he realized that his son had already left to join the Samanas in spirit so he gave Siddhartha his blessing.
