In what way does Govinda represent the theme of the “unity of all things”, or need to be part of a unit?

Govinda begins his travels alongside Siddhartha. Govinda then leaves Siddhartha to follow the Buddha. His decision was based upon hearing Goatama speak. Govinda believes that he has much to learn, Govinda wants to be taught.... to be a part of learning, whereas, Siddhartha is focused of self-teaching.
