What is the main conflict in Shiloh by Bobbie Ann Mason?

The main conflict in the novel, Shiloh, revolves around Norma Jean and Leroy's marriage. Norma Jean works long hours and takes care of herself..... as well as her home. Leroy, however, lacks initiative and does little outside of lay around, hand around, and drive around.
