Who is Taufiq/John Brent-Oxford from Shikasta: Re, Colonised Planet 5: Personal, Psychological, Historical... and what is their importance?

Taufiq is a Canopean Emissary, who is responsible for overseeing Shikasta. Unhappy with his job, he makes numerous requests to be transferred. When he is offered the opportunity to take part in a great mission, Taufiq jumps at the chance to incarnate as a British man, John Brent-Oxford. After incarnating, he becomes a major politician in the British Labour Party, and forgets about practicing law. Johor, thus, was forced to report Taufiq's negligence to several important individuals. that Taufiq was not around to help and how this made the task of preparing Shikasta for the apocalypse all the more difficult. In the end, John Brent-Oxford is killed in the bombing of the amphitheatre.
