Rose doesn't drink anymore because the last time she did she was not fully capable of defending or protecting Lissa. Lissa was concerned about a feeder girl that a boy named Wade brought to a party. Lissa asked Rose to intervene, which she did, but it turned ugly. Later, Lissa follwed Wade to his room where she compelled him to destroy everything. Rose arrived just in time to prevent Lissa from compelling the boy to kill himself.
