Are there any similarities between Ana and Kim from seed folks

Ana watches Kim from the window of her apartment when Ana plants her lima bean seeds. Because Ana has learned to be suspicious living in a neighborhood filled with crime, she thinks that Kim is burying something bad, like drugs or a gun. Deciding to take matters into her own hands, Ana digs around in the dirt of the vacant lot after Kim left but discovers that girl had not buried anything bad but had instead planted lima bean seeds. Ana is distraught when she realizes she probably stunted the beans by digging them up and calls another neighbor to help her make sure the beans will still grow. Both Ana and Kim care about the garden and the beauty of the garden. They are actually kindred spirits.
