Who is Mr. Okpara?

Mr. Okpara is the older Ibo man Adah meets in the park in Chapter 12 after her quarrel with Francis over birth control. This character is a foil for Francis because he seems to be everything that Francis is not. He is a well-dressed, sensitive man with a good job who approaches Adah with kindness. Adah allows Mr. Okpara to escort her home because she believes he may be able to talk sense into Francis and convince him to go to work and support his family. Mr. Okpara tries to do exactly that, but Francis is unwilling to listen.
