Garner Malone from Scribbler of Dreams is Kaitlin and Abby's father. He is in jail for most of the story because he accidentally killed Bram's father. He is released 18 months later. Garner was framed for the accident and when released tells everyone what happened. He is horrifed that Kaitlin would be going out with Bram, but is more okay about it than his wife is.
