Drake McBride owns a company, and we presume him to he wealthy. To some, he may sound like a Texas oilman, but in reality he is a fake. McBride has no money of his own, and the only money he had belongs to his father. In addition, he speaks with a Texan accent, wears a cowboy hat, and sports expensive snakeskin boots to make people think that he is a Texan oilman. In reality, however, he is from upstate New York.
