How did ketchup develop into tomato ketchup?

Ketchup made from salted anchovies is named after an Indonesian fish and salt sauce because the English liked to imitate Asian seasoning. After the tomato was imported from America to Europe it added the fruit to ingredients and became "tomato ketchup".
