Savva Suvorin is from Russka. He and his father own a successful cloth factory. When his father is sent to Siberia, Savva hides out in Moscow. He marries, has a son, and is later brought back to Russka as an escaped serf. Alexis Bobrobv refuses to allow Savva to buy his freedom. When Sergei is killed in a duel, his last request to Alexis is to give Savva his freedom, which Alexis does. The Suvorin family operates factories in Russka and Moscow.
