How does the subject of fear affect both Rosencrantz and Guildenstern?

Rosencrantz does not even understand how they got off on the subject of fear. Guildenstern, however, senses something fearful waiting around the corner. He equates the fear he is feeling with a fear of realization or enlightenment.
