In Chapter Nine, the main idea is centered around Papa's desire to expose Stacey to the world of adults.... to make him stronger. In the chapter, Papa wants to bring Stacey to Vicksburg in order to teach him a life lesson, as well as to teach him the proper way of handling himself as a young adult.
