Who is Marquise de Villeparisis from Remembrance of Things Past and what is their importance?

Marquise de Villeparisis is Grandmother's friend. She is also M. de Norpois's lover. Over the course of the story, she introduces the narrator to her nephew, the Marquise de Saint-Loup. The narrator runs into her again while he and his grandmother visit Balbec.
