When he is driving the tractor, how does Jack's behavior mimic that of his father?

The narrator notes that Jack stands on the tractor as he drives, like his father Dale does. Also like his father, Jack cries and contemplates suicide. He recites dramatic soliloquies while working in the fields much as his father did dramatic readings around town.
