What is Jack's "black memory"? What sounds and sights does Jack relive in his black memory?

This is the clear memory Jack has of not stopping the tractor when he begins rolling over his brother. Instead, he loos back behind him to see his brother slowly crushed by the cultipacker. In this memory, he hears the sound of his sister's scream and sees the machinery crushing his brother's skull.
