Mrs. Yegudkin was terribly crippled by her injuries in Siberia and left twisted and deformed. She has gray hair and wears unfashionable black shoes and a long, shapeless black dress. She accompanies her husband to his lessons and sits on the long wooden bench outside of his office. She neither knits nor reads while she is waiting, and only occasionally attempts to speak with a student.
