How does Jack feel after asking Yegudkin if he will ever play the horn as well as the teacher? How does Yegudkin respond?

He was embarrassed and wanted to be far away from Yegudkin and the lesson. He is also hurt by Yegudkin's laughter at his question. As if he can sense Jack's intense emotion, Yegudkin becomes business-like and conducts Jack's lesson. However, he does not go into his rants about America and Russia. Instead he says kindly to Jack as he leaves, "Next Saturday?"
