Who is Captain Standish from Rebellion and what is their importance?

Captain Standish is the English soldier who raped Fiona MacGregor in 1735 at her home in Glenroe. Standish is killed by Brigham Langston in a duel, as a reckoning for his abuse of Fiona MacGregor.
