Who is Walter Blythe from Rainbow Valley and what is their importance?

Walter is the Blythe's second oldest child. He is described as being artistic and creative like his mother. Walter also loves to read and write poetry. Although Walter isn't generally known to be confrontational, he does defend Faith against a bully at school.
