who was the hero of pudd''nhead wilson? what makes himor her heroic?

In my opinion, Wilson is the hero of the novel. He went from being a man of no account, to the lawyer who successfully defended the Italians and solved the mystery surrounding Driscoll's death. He went from a zero to a hero.
