What happens when Thomas arrives in France?

The lie about Thomas's age doesn't hold up long. When Thomas and Charlie get to France, they meet several people that know them from home. They are forced to reveal Thomas's true age. However, it does not make much of a difference because there is little that anyone can do about it with Thomas already in France.
