Why is Amanda so determinedly cheerful to Victor and Sibyl?

Amanda stated in Act II that she would "behave exquisitely" when the jilted spouses finally caught up with them. Overall, Amanda has beautiful manners and this comes out in her behavior. However, more than that, acting as if nothing happened will delay the inevitable facing of what her actions with Elyot cost their spouses and each other.
