I have to write an extended chapter to any novel of the English language. HELP REQUIRED !

This year for my annual project I have to write an extended chapter to any novels of the English language. I was thinking of "pride and Prejudice" by Jane Austen but I really don't know how I can possibly extend the novel as it seems totally complete with little scope for extension. I hope you can really help me out. Also, I would appreciate any further suggestions of novels which I can choose which can be easily extended and how. Any links or sites which may contain useful material will also help ALOT.
