These two chapters in Pride and Prejudice are the pivotal points in the novel because Elizabeth is able to overcome her prejudice and he's able to overcome his pride in order to see that they both have feelings for one another. She learns about how he is as a master to the servants and that he was a very kindhearted little boy growing up there. She is able to see a different side to him. Likewise, when she turns down his proposal of marriage it is clear to him that he has misjudged her and he allows her to see the kind person that he truly is.
