How does Martin meet Elsa, his wife and Silas's mother?

Martin is working in Philadelphia in an engraver's office. Elsa comes to the shop to arrange to have her wedding invitations designed and printed. Martin notices how sad she seems, and he later goes to her home to get her approval of design of the invitations.
