Dillard still rails against the seeming cruelty of nature; however, what else is she seeing by Chapter 13?

She seems closer to finding a balance between believing nature to be either terrible or wonderful. She almost accepts the fact that there is much about nature that seems unnecessarily violent, but also that nature has much purity and beauty to it that is untouched by the violence.
