Sharon is Kate's mom. She is always very supportive of Steve and his dream of running the booth at the mall. She pretends as if everything is going to be fine. Eventually, however, she realizes that Steve is spending their money an doing whatever he wants, no matter what she says. This forces Sharon to wake up and finally become the adult in the situation. When she realizes that Steve is not going to be an adult about the situation, she tells him he has to choose between Perfect You and his family. They end up separating. Sharon sells the family home and moves into an apartment with her mother and Kate.
