What is the main conflict in Pedagogy of the Oppressed by Paulo Freire?

Pedagogy of the Oppressed is Paulo Freire’s theory of teaching amongst “oppressed” and underprivileged peoples and it is founded in his experiences teaching adult Brazilians to read and write. He proposes a new type of teacher and student relationship in which the teacher and student participate in problem-posing education; the student and teacher arrive at conclusions together in a dialogue without the preformed conclusions of “banking education”. In turn this affects the oppressed by creating the ability for critical thinking and questioning of authorities.
