Who is Kaiyo from Peace Child and what is their importance?

Due to the ongoing violence, Richardson announces to the villages of Kamur and Haenam that he will be moving. The villagers beg him to stay and promise to make peace. In order to do so, each village must offer their enemy a peace child. When other couples from Kamur fail to offer their sons, Kaiyo offers his only child as a symbol of peace to Haenam.
