What happens when Patina and her group of runners do not know which way to run in Chapter 13?

Patina and her group of runners lose sight of Whit and Sunny and do not know which way to run. Coach comes up and asks what they are waiting for. Patina tells him that they do not know which way to go, and she asks him what they should do. He tells her to tell him what they should do. Patina looks around, and then she chooses a way to run and everyone follows.
