Who is Demetrius from Plutarch's Lives, Volume 2 and what is their importance?

Demetrius was a king of Macedon. He was repeatedly welcomed and then expelled by the Athenians. He later defended Macedon against Egypt, and he was captured while invading Persia. He died in Persia while in captivity.
