Three bits of evidence that show Paddy Clarke story is about a time long in the past?

In the novel, we learn the year is 1968. One of Paddy's favorite shows is The Three Stooges. Paddy and his friends played in building sites, and wrote their names in concrete.... kids today would have a hard time doing this as there are cameras everywhere.
