What does Milo learn from Gary in Chapter 32?

In Chapter 32, Milo learns Gary's involvement with Jack Cadmus's diary. Gary tells Milo he was given the diary by Jamey. Gary put the diary in a drawer and later made it a part of his art. He did not have any knowledge of the importance of the diary or how it was related to Bitter Canyon.
