Who is Joe Dubik from Out of This Furnace and what is their importance?

Joe Dubik is a twenty-one-year-old immigrant from Saria. He finds employment at the White Haven camp, where he becomes George's close friend and roommate. His girlfriend, Dorta, who remained in Hungary is later sent for and the couple marries. Joe is killed in an accident at the steel mills in 1895.
