Who is Elena Kracha from Out of This Furnace and what is their importance?

Elena Kracha is George's wife. He leaves her in Hungary when he comes to America, and he sends for her a year later. During the time she spends waiting to join her husband, she gives delivers a son who dies shortly after birth. After arriving in America, she quickly becomes pregnant and gives birth to a daughter, Mary, and then Alice and Anna. Elena is a sickly woman, thus, she is unable to leave her bed. Elena dies soon after George begins his affair with Zuska.
